Schierstein
Schierstein is located between Biebrich and Walluf and is known as "the gate to the Rheingau". It was first mentioned in the year 860. Today it is part of the city of Wiesbaden and has 10.000 inhabitants. Its town center with the cosy narrow alleys invites you for a walk. A remarkable sight is the "Schiersteiner Port"; a celebration with all kinds of boats and yachts takes place here every year; it gives this town a special mediterranean flair. A park at the Bernhard-Schwarz-Strasse reminds of a destroyed synagogue. The Christophorus Church is located at the Zehnthofstrasse; this is the most beautiful church from the rococo period in the Rheingau region.
